Quadpack’s Mahina Tottle combines a metal roll-on with an on-off lock

Quick answer. Quadpack’s Mahina Tottle, presented in a 9 September 2026 announcement, combines a metal roll-on applicator with a lock and a modular pack. The supplier positions it for low-viscosity formulas such as oils and serums. Each feature has a different job: the ball applies, the lock controls opening and the modular structure supports separation.

A different application gesture for a tottle

Quadpack describes direct roll-on delivery and an on/off system intended to control dispensing. It also says the pack can be separated for refilling and recycling. The announcement places the metal contact surface at the centre of the experience, pairing the container with a repeated rolling action.

That combination asks a brand to design the whole sequence. Someone must know when to unlock the pack, how to bring formula to the applicator, and how to close it after use. An understandable stopping point is especially valuable for an object meant to be picked up and put down repeatedly.

Three functions to demonstrate separately

A useful demonstration should first show the locked and unlocked positions. It should then show the rolling action with the intended formula. Finally, it should explain which components are meant to separate and at what point in the product’s life. These actions may share one object, but they answer different user questions.

The formula scope also matters. A pack proposed for lightweight liquids cannot be selected for a thick cream just because both are skincare products. The development brief should identify the actual texture and the application area the brand intends to address, then assess the finished combination.

Where the design could be useful

Mahina offers a way to make the application tool part of the bottle itself. For a product concept built around a deliberate rolling gesture, that can give the package a clearer role than simply holding the contents. The tradeoff is that the locking and replacement actions must remain easy to explain through instructions and imagery.

The announcement contains sensorial and formula-performance claims from the supplier. This report covers the physical configuration and does not evaluate absorption, skincare outcomes or clinical effects. Capacity, a named consumer-brand adoption and market-specific refill instructions would require further product documentation.
